Bingo for Children

Sometimes the best lens ideas are right under your nose!   Our grandchildren totally enjoyed Zingo when they were little and our family always plays Bingo at reunions -- so why not?

It's much easier to write about the things we know best. Just take an hour and look at your calendar, your house, and see what projects you have enjoyed, what products you use. What is your favorite Halloween memory?   Family party?   Christmas joy?

New Sidebar Widgets

Have you tried the new sidebar widgets yet?   I am adding the new widgets to my lenses - 3-5 every day, and I am amazed at how much color and fun I can add to a lens this way!  And sales possibilities too!

Right now we can add Amazon products, featured lenses and a squid cast.  You can only use 3 total per lens.

This is an easy way to update your lenses, too!

Squidoo Facebook Pages - Part 2

Do you manage a group at Squidoo?

Yesterday I created South Carolina Friends and Neighbors on Facebook.

Those of us who are South Carolina lensmasters will post our lenses about South Carolina towns, tourist attractions, people or other SC items of interest there.

Why? Because Facebook is quickly becoming a huge "search engine". Just think about it. Someone on Facebook is planning a vacation to South Carolina - and just for fun, they type "South Carolina" in the search box. And they find us and all our lenses.

or

Someone new to facebook wants to find others from South Carolina -- and they find us, too.

Don't miss this opportunity to give your group's lenses some extra exposure. And come see us!

Squidoo Facebook Pages

I joined Rocket Moms this session to learn more about Facebook pages. If you have created a Facebook page, do let me know. I want to favorite all of your pages on my page which is Expressions of Life Through Squidoo

Bonnie is also teaching us the importance of creating niche pages, so I created Sassy Senior Solutions. I think that page will be fun and I am learning how to find traffic for it too!

Every venue we explore and use increases our traffic to our lenses if we learn to use it well. I do believe that. Facebook pages give us more exposure. In fact, this morning, I have visited at least 3 lenses I would not have seen had it not been for Facebook pages. Don't miss this super way to promote your work and add some excitement to your Facebook experience!

Buy Star Wars Books

As I searched for keywords for Stars Wars, I realized that the Star Wars books had not been overworked, and might well be a nice addition to my new Star Wars niche. I used books for all ages, but focused on books for children.

Another little trick to remember -- and this happened to me -- if someone already has the squidoo url for your topic, you can add the word "buy" to the beginning of the key word phrase, thus the title for this one is Buy Star Wars Books.

Have you found a super little niche yet?

Star Wars Clothing

Our grandson had a Star Wars Christmas this year! I took a clue from him and I am creating a series of lenses from Star Wars products. I am searching for key words for Star Wars that rank well. The market is totally saturated in some areas. When you are looking for a new niche, look for markets that have room for you in the less popular areas. I search for at least 4000 visitors weekly with little competition. That assures me of regular visitors, not a million visitors, but enough to keep my little site active.

You are invited to visit Star Wars Clothing to see an example.

Party Line Dances

You can learn to line dance -- all you need are the basic steps. And at the next party or wedding you attend, you can be on the dance floor having fun, instead of sitting and watching!

PS -- if you have not yet made a video lens, today is a good day to try. I simply took a subject that I love - line dancing - and found a few basic line dance videos -- and voila', a new lens! Have some fun with your lens creations!

Optimist Club of Rock Hill, South Carolina

The Optimist Club of Rock Hill is a small but enthusiastic group of folks working to make a difference to the children in our area.

For the past 8 years, my husband, Whitey Adams, has been directing their golf tournament every spring. We have watched these people work very hard to make a successful event happen again and again. They certainly all have our deep respect and admiration.

This is the first of a series of lenses about my home town. If you have not made a home town lens yet, now is the time to start. Look around you at all the businesses and volunteer groups that could really use your skills.
