E-book Downloads

In my last post, I strongly recommended that you download Potpiegirl's free Squidoo Guidebook. Later, it occurred to me that many of you have probably never downloaded an ebook. So of course, I did the only natural thing I could do - I created an instruction lens!

EBook Downloads and How to Use Them was made for you. In this lens, I explain how I personally use ebooks for my education and self-improvement.

You are an expert at something! Will you please share with all of us?

Reminders

If you have not yet joined Squidlog, you will want to do that. You can read great articles about your Squidoo life, link directly to Squidoo chat, get to know other lensmasters, and in general, just have some Squidoo-fun!

Also, if you have not yet checked out One Week Marketing, this is a reminder to do that. Go and download the free pages and see what you think! Potpiegirl is amazing!

and one more reminder - have you introduced yourself over at SquidU? Click on Discussion Forum, fill out your profile information, and go to the forum area marked "introduce yourself". SquidU is vital to lensmasters. And a great way to meet your fellow Squidoo-ers.

Take the time to review all of the available modules. It's easy to get into the habit of using the same ones over and over. I know I have to make myself stretch sometimes to try something new. Exploring the modules is a great way to stretch and make your lenses more interesting, for sure!

Are you having fun with Squidoo?

Squid Tips for You

Yeah! Squidoo Headquarters published a free e-book for its members! Did you get your copy? Squid Tips for You is just waiting for you to download!

I am very proud that my Pendleton lens is right there! Along with all of my sister's lenses about Pendleton! My sister is Ohme on Squidoo.

If you live in a small town, you will want to study Ohme's lenses about Pendleton. There are five of them-- one covers community calendar and activities, another is about the community-built playground, another about local businesses and 2 with local historical photographs. Any small town would be thrilled to have you make lenses about them!

Do let me know if you follow up on this idea! I would love to read about your town!

Kids With Special Needs

Today Highlighting my Newest lens, Kids with Special Needs -- and there is a reason I want to share it with you.

My sister was here visiting last weekend, and we created this lens together. We just wanted to spread the word of Dr. Wood's programs. No one was more surprised than we were when it zoomed up to # 266 overall in 3 days.

We have had visitors - over 60 in the first 3 days, but not thousands by any means. What we have had is comments and click outs. People seem to be interested in the subject and the links listed on the lens are very specific and focused on Dr. Wood's program. I really think that has made a big difference.

Of course, It helps that Dr. Wood's programs are well known and that she has many websites filled with helpful information for parents and teachers. I am excited to think what will happen to this lens when google crawls it. Yes, I listed it with google and msn. Will submit to yahoo today.

We can all learn from this one.

General Etiquette on Squidoo

One of the first things to do as a new Squidoo-er is to visit lots of lenses. These visits will teach you more than you can learn in any book. And if you enjoyed the lens, please say so. Your comment should be in tune with the lens and should include enough information to show that you actually read it.

Do not just say "nice lens" and add your link. In fact, do not add your link in someone else's comments unless it is very specifically relevent. When in doubt, just don't do it. If someone wants to know more about you, they can click on your name for your profile.

Do say positive things. Example "I learned so much from this lens. I did not know the Statue of Liberty history. Thank you." or "Your pictures of the Statue of Liberty are beautiful"......

As you visit and comment, many of the lensmasters you visited will return your visit and comment. This is a great way to make friends in the Squidoo community.

And do be a participant in the community. Be active and helpful in the forum. You will learn so much there.

Now two lenses for learning and viewing:
Learn about Squidoo Angels, go to Is A Squid Angel Looking Over Your Shoulder?

And just for fun, visit our daughter's wedding at Unique Wedding Ideas

Keep writing and creating and have fun!
